Some of Australia's Olympic swimmers will be immediately tested for coronavirus after visiting a Queensland area soon to be in lockdown.
The group of swimmers had been in Townsville and on Sunday visited Magnetic Island - both locations will enter a snap three-day lockdown later Tuesday.
"Members of the Townsville group attended Magnetic Island ... but are considered low-risk contacts and did not attend any high-risk locations during their visit," a Swimming Australia spokesperson said.
"We will follow government health advice and be tested immediately as per the advice for low-risk contacts."
The swimmers who were based in Townsville travelled to Cairns on Tuesday ahead an Olympic training camp starting Saturday.
Many other swimmers were already in Cairns for the camp.
SA said the group that had been in Townsville is being kept separate from the main group through the lockdown period.
Separately, swimmers who had been in South East Queensland - an area also headed into lockdown - were shifted to Cairns on Monday night.
The swimmers will have access to training facitilies whilst in Cairns.
