Olympic flame exhibited in Tokyo

The Olympic flame that will feature at the postponed Tokyo Games next year went on display at the Japan Olympic Museum in Shinjuku, Tokyo, on Tuesday,

The flame, which is housed in a lantern, will be on display through Nov. 1. Admission to the museum is by appointment only due to the novel coronavirus.

Yoshiro Mori, chairman of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics organizing committee, said at an unveiling ceremony on Monday: "Next year, the torch will be carried by about 10,000 runners and will be used to light the Olympic cauldron. We will do everything we can to ensure the success of the Games."
