Olympic champion Kellie Harrington second favourite to be crowned RTE Sportsperson of the Year

Dublin's golden girl Kellie Harrington is the second favourite to clinch the prestigious RTE Sportsperson of the Year award.

A total of eight nominees made the final shortlist, six of which are women.

Boylesports current odds of Kellie getting the crown are 15/8 while jockey Rachael Blackmore is the favourite at 2/5.

In April, Blackmore became the first female jockey to win the Grand National , having already been crowned leading jockey for the week at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

The other six athletes nominated are golfer Leona Maguire, Meath GAA star Vikki Wall, Paralympians Jason Smyth and Ellen Keane, boxer Katie Taylor and Limerick hurler Cian Lynch.

The winner will be announced on RTE One next Saturday, December 18.
