Ellidy Pullin, the partner of Gold Coast Olympic snowboarder Alex "Chumpy" Pullin, has given birth to their daughter 15 months after his tragic death last year.

Ms Pullin announced the birth of their daughter, Minnie Alex Pullin, on Instagram on Thursday morning.

"Hello, I had a baby," she told her 103,000 Instagram followers.

She said her daughter was born on October 25.

Pullin was Australia's first snowboard world champion and a three-time Olympian.

The 32-year-old died in a freak diving accident in shallow water at Palm Beach in July last year.

Ms Pullin announced she was pregnant with Pullin's child in June this year, after undergoing successful posthumous IVF in the months after he died.

The new mum posted the announcement of little Minnie's arrival to her Instagram story, which depicted her sitting with the newborn and was captioned, 'And we have been a lil busy and tired'.

Ms Pullin then published a photograph of her cradling her precious daughter.

She has openly documented her pregnancy journey on Instagram and on her own podcast, including the announcement in June this year that she had become pregnant using Pullin's sperm.

She had told her followers the couple had been trying for a baby in the months before Pullin's death.

In her podcast, she said she had to "hustle" to retrieve Pullin's sperm after he died.

Emotional tributes for Pullin

Last week, Ms Pullin posted a photo of Pullin as a child with an emotional caption.

"I can't wait to look into our bub's eyes and see you again Chump!" it read.

Previously, Ms Pullin had described the pregnancy journey as "bittersweet like no other".

In September, she celebrated what would have been Pullin's 34th birthday in an emotional tribute to her child's father.

"The silence is deafening," the post read.

The new addition has attracted tens of thousands of reactions on social media, with comments of congratulations flowing in for the pair.

Olympian Jess Fox posted her congratulations, alongside professional surfer Nikki van Dijk, who called the birth "the most beautiful news ever," and actor Lincoln Lewis who sent Ms Pullin his best wishes.
