Olympiacos manager sends Man City hint over Champions League tactics

Olympiacos manager Pedro Martins has promised not to change his style when his side face Manchester City in the Champions League.

The Greek side have a strong record against Premier League opposition under the Portuguese coach, having knocked Arsenal out of the Europa League last season.

Whilst Martins is adamant that game is now in the past, he said he is looking forward to playing City and his team will not change how they play.

"It’s a fantastic game, it’s a fantastic environment," he said to the i. "It is such a pity we will not have fans but to go up against such a good team is a pleasure.

"It will be a good challenge, a good experience for us. Normally we do very good games in England, so we are happy to do it against a good team with a very good manager in Pep.

"We will not change our style of playing, our process or identity."

He added: "Everything is different. To say Arsenal is like City or City like Arsenal is not right, they are very different. The players are totally different. Arsenal belongs to the past and now we have a big challenge in England against City."

There will also be a reunion in the game, with Martins having managed City goalkeeper Ederson earlier in his career at Rio Ave.

Paying tribute to the Brazilian, Martins said Ederson is the perfect fit for City and Pep Guardiola.

"He has a big personality and is mentally very strong," he said. "I think he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

"He is a perfect fit for City, as he can give very good solutions when he has possession with his passing qualities. Pep has chosen the right goalkeeper for how they want to start building attacks in the first phase."
