Olly Murs praised for pausing show and coming to the aid of a fan

Olly Murs has been praised by a mum for pausing his concert and coming to the aid of a fan after she suffered an epileptic seizure

The singer paused his gig on Sunday and went over to talk to the fan to make sure she was okay.

Her mum tweeted Olly to say how grateful she and her daughter were after the show at Colchester Castle Park.

She wrote: ".@ollymurs thank you for coming down off the stage to talk to my daughter after she had a seizure tonight. You really are so kind and you made her night xx"

Olly is a coach on The Voice (ITV)

The star shared her tweet with the response: "Oh god I hope she is ok!! Do send her my love x"

And the mum replied: "Olly I honestly can not thank you enough for what you did!

"You really turned an awful scary situation around and made her smile.

"Not many artists would do that and I honestly can't put into words how much it meant to us both. Thanks so much for your message also. Xx"

Olly, who shot to fame on the singing contest The X Factor in 2009, is a coach on the hit ITV talent show The Voice filmed at MediaCityUK, Salford and he recently appeared on the game show The Cube.

This Saturday the Manchester United fan will join the Soccer Aid line-up at the Etihad Stadium England take on Soccer Aid World XI FC for children's charity UNICEF.

As the praise came pouring in for Olly on Twitter the mum told one follower: "Thank you so much, she's doing well today thank you.

"No epilepsy is going to stop my girl having a good time and doing what she loves."

And she told another: "Thanks so much. I'm still in shock he paused a whole show to make sure she was OK, what a guy I just love him x"

One fan said: "So glad she is doing ok. Must have been very scary.

"Good old Olly to hang on until he knew she was ok and came to say hello too! "Hopefully you can get to another show soon. Rest up and get better soon."

Another applauded: "Olly, you are an amazing person but this puts you on another level."

Another praised: "What an absolute gentleman! Olly you are a wonderful human being."

And another said: "What an absolutely lovely thing to do.

"A lot of people are scared by seizures and do not know what to do.

"I hope your daughter is OK and feeling slightly better today.

"I have suffered from epilepsy since the age of 15 (21 years) so I know how she feels."

Another Olly fan commented: "Such an amazing guy, you truly are something special. "The way you show care for your fans during a scary time just shows why you are loved so much and are still in the career you love."
