Olly Murs on the hunt for 'crazy ideas' as he turns his talents to TV production

He started on The X Factor, before becoming a coach on The Voice and now Olly Murs is moving behind the cameras.

This year the singer set up production company Wrapped Up TV with former Strictly exec Andrea Hamilton.

Now company director Olly, 36, is working on projects in which he will be a producer.

He tells the Mirror: “We’re looking...to create great shows for other people to present. I like creating my own ideas and sometimes the craziest ideas can be the best ideas.

“I’ve got a couple of writers as well and we’re just putting things together to see where it might go.”

Olly's hugely popular on The Voice (ITV)
He shot to fame on The X Factor (ITV)

But though he admits his first presenting gig on The X Factor wasn’t his finest work, Olly has a “great relationship” with ITV and still has hopes to front his own series for them.

The channel aired his show Happy Hour in 2018.

He says: “I jumped into doing presenting at a way too early stage. I feel like I needed a bit more experience – especially doing the big, big, shows.

“I’ve gone away and learnt my craft.

“TV is something that I want to continue doing and I still have ambitions to have my own show.”
