Olly Murs injured again on stage as fan smacks him in face with suncream bottle

Olly Murs has been injured during an on-stage performance after a fan pelted him with a bottle of suncream.

According to The Mirror, the 37-year-old was singing at Newbury Racecourse on Saturday, when the force of a plastic container left him rubbing his eyes and unable to see.

The suncream incident comes only one week after Olly underwent surgery for another injury he picked up during a performance.

The Troublemaker hitmaker had an operation to remove a fragment of bone that had lodged itself in the back of his knee after he jumped around vigorously on stage.

Making his stage comeback, Olly appeared unstoppable this weekend as he sang for the crowd while wearing a leg brace, telling his fans he was going to "take it easy".

But the performance took a turn for the worst when an over-excited fan launched a bottle of suncream onto the stage, which hit Olly in his face.

Talking about the accident during an Instagram Live afterwards,Olly said: "The suncream was not a good idea half way through the gig.

"Thanks to the person who threw it at me, my eyes are still stinging from that."

Thankfully, despite the setback Olly said he still managed to enjoy the performance, adding: "The gig was amazing. To be honest with you, it felt better than I thought. I was trying to be a bit cautious on stage."

Olly had surgery on his knee last week after injuring himself on stage on a separate occasion (ollymurs/Instagram)

Earlier this month, Olly made reference to this weekend's performance and that it was going to be a bit different as he recovered from his op.

On Instagram, he said: "It will be a different gig, I probably won't be running around like I normally do. There might be a stool for me to sit down on but I can't cancel these gigs."

He was rushed to hospital for surgery after a "mad 72 hours" just weeks ago.

Issuing fans with an update from his hospital bed, he explained to his 3.6million Instagram followers: "Basically, after my second song, a fragment of bone that was in my knee managed - after I jumped - to lodge itself on the back of my knee, which basically shut my leg down.

"During the gig I was just limping the whole time, I couldn't believe it. So, basically I'm in, I've had the surgery."

Olly continued: "It's been a mad 72 hours because I thought the worst, I thought that I might have done my knee again. I thought I ruptured my ACL, to be honest."
