Olly Murs is head over heels in love with his new bodybuilding girlfriend Amelia Tank - and wants the world to know it.
The 35-year-old X Factor star sparked up a romance with 27-year-old City worker Amelie last January - and it sounds like he couldn’t be happier to be dating her as their one-year anniversary approaches.
Formerly unlucky-in-love Olly says his new girlfriend is a best friend as well as a great lover and particularly enjoys the fact that she lets him get on with his own life - which includes hectic music-making and touring commitments.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine, the cheeky chap gushed enthusiastically about his new lover - his first romance since the collapse of his previous long-term relationship that ended in 2015.
"She's just a great person, full of love, she's caring, sensitive, doesn't suffocate me, lets me be me, loves the fact I'm cheeky and flirty and isn't trying to change that. I love being around her. She's one of my best mates and then she is my lover and girlfriend,” he said.
However, it sounds like Olly was keeping his options open before settling on Amelia to be his new girlfriend - as he hinted he was dating multiple women at once at the time they met.
“When you’re just dating people and it’s like: ‘I’m sort of seeing her, but I’m also seeing how it goes…’ You just want to go on a date, have a drink, get to know this person without the f**king paps being outside when you leave,” he said.
"The date might be s**t, but the last thing I want to do is get papped with her and have some other girl who I am actually interested in see it! So it is a bit of a mind f**k,” he went on.
“It’s so refreshing to go out in a public place and not give a f**k who sees me. I’m so thankful and happy I have met Amelia,” he added.
Olly previously dated model Francesca Thomas after meeting at V Festival in Chelmsford in 2012.
The Heart Skips a Beat singer had enjoyed a gluttonous romance with the blonde beauty - who he said while they were dating that she preferred her lovers to be more plump than muscles.
Complaining about gaining weight while dating Fran, Olly said: “She misses the comfort belly, something to snuggle up to! I always joke around with my girlfriend and say she’s a bit of a feeder. She has a go at me for saying that, though.”
Olly and Francesca split in 2015, but the star is glad he had a gap between romances.
Speaking of his new love with Amelia, he said: “I’ve been single for many years and I can say this is the happiest I’ve been in a very long time. You realise when you meet someone great that this is what it’s supposed to feel like.”
