Olly Murs cancels Edinburgh Castle performance but keeps other tour dates

Olly Murs has announced he has cancelled his 2021 performance at Edinburgh Castle.

The popular singer was due to welcome fans up to the castle esplanade on July 8 after the show had already been pushed back from a 2020 date.

However, today (March 15), Murs explained that he would be moving the Edinburgh date one year forward to 2022.

Despite the castle date being postponed, the pop star will still be heading on tour in the summer, but has chosen to only perform at a limited number of the original stops.

Taking to his social media to give an update, Murs said he "couldn't wait" to get back on the road for the shows, and explained that some have had to be rescheduled.

He added: "I’ve been working really hard with my team to put on as many shows as possible this year but sadly, some have to be moved into 2022. I’ll still be seeing some of ya this Summer and I can’t wait."

Dates at venues such as Darlington and Bedford will continue as planned this year, however Edinburgh and other cities such as Cardiff, Leeds and Belfast will have to wait.

Anyone with a ticket for the Edinburgh performance or any others that have been postponed has been informed that it it still valid for the new date.

Tickets are still available for the show here.
