Ollie Williams has revealed the reason behind his shock decision to walk out of the Love Island and quit the show.
It was revealed on Tuesday afternoon that the 23-year-old, who had been the subject of a petition to get him removed from the programme , had left Love Island after just three days of the new series starting.
And in scenes that are set to air on the show, Ollie goes into the Beach Hut and says ""I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else… I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings.
"At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it’s about finding love. If I carried on anything with Paige, or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn’t be fair on them."
Ollie's statement confirms rumours in The Sun that he walked away from the show because is still in love with his ex girlfriend Laura Nofer, 23, who he previously dated for 18 months.
Ollie's departure comes after a petition was launched against him being on the show, after a now deleted Instagram image showed him posing next to a dead animal.
The page on Change.org reads "The page's description reads: "ITV allowing him to be on the show is implying that they are okay with his sick and sadistic hobby.
"Ollie Williams should not be allowed to take part or compete in the Love Island series and he should not be allowed on a such a public platform.""
