Here is your Leeds United morning digest for Tuesday, August 18.
Leeds' transfer priorities assessed
Leeds remain in the market for additions ahead of their return to the Premier League and there are five areas to strengthen, Nestor Watach writes.
It’s been confirmed that Jack Harrison, Helder Costa and Illan Meslier will remain at Elland Road, while Joe Gelhardt has joined from Wigan Athletic and Cody Drameh and Charlie Allen have arrived to bolster the youth ranks.
Further additions are required, with a central defender and a striker on the agenda but there's also a need to find a successor for Pablo Hernandez and the goalkeeper situation also needs to be resolved.
Ollie Watkins addresses speculation
Brentford striker Ollie Watkins laughed off suggestions of a transfer after being approached by Aston Villa fans as he returned from his holiday.
Watkins, along with teammate Said Benrahma, has been linked with a move to Leeds United, among others, as he weighs up his options ahead of the new season.
The question of a move to Villa was put directly to Watkins as he made his way back to the UK after holidaying on the Greek island of Mykonos.
According to BirminghamLive, Watkins smiled and laughed as he chose not to answer, with the Villa fan commenting on his picture with the striker: “Maybe the thumbs up means he’s coming!”
Shane Duffy price
Leeds United will need to pay Brighton a fee of £5million to take Shane Duffy on loan from Brighton this season, the Sun states.
It's stated that the Republic of Ireland international is unsettled with the Seagulls but Graham Potter's side have placed two significant demands on a potential exit.
As well as a £5million fee, it's stated that Brighton are demanding that the defender's entire wages for the duration of the 2020/21 season will have to be covered.
