Ollie Horgan admits Finn Harps have to be ruthless to breathe life into survival bid

Ollie Horgan admits that Finn Harps have to find a ruthless streak fast if they're to begin the process of lifting themselves off the bottom of the top flight table.

Harps need to start winning - they're yet to do so - and, in particular, to pick up three points from the sides closest to them. Sligo, tonight's opponents, fit into that category.

“It’s not for the lack of trying to get more goals and chances have come our way but we just haven’t been finishing," said Harps boss Horgan.

"We had a few opportunities in the Pat’s game on Monday night, but again we failed to find the net. That was disappointing but obviously the confidence levels are not high at the moment because of the poor run of results.

"But all we can do is go out and be mentally strong and believe that we can change the course of season at the Showgrounds.

"We also have to improve defensively and reduce the amount of errors we are making when the opposition are in possession.

"We’re not in a good place going to Sligo, but we're determined to try and change that and need to do so quickly so as we are not cut further adrift at the bottom of the table".

Harps are again without Colm Deasy through suspension and are missing injured quartet Harry Ascroft, Mark Timlin, Gareth Harkin and Ciaran Gallagher.
