Olivier Ntcham set for Marseille debut as Celtic loanee gets 'apocalypse' verdict from French media

Celtic loanee Olivier Ntcham could make his debut for Marseille against Lens on Wednesday night amid an ongoing "apocalypse" at the club.

The midfielder joined OM on loan with an option to buy on transfer deadline day, with Neil Lennon revealing he'd been seeking a move for around two years.

Things quickly turned sour though as new boss Andre Villas-Boas offered his resignation in protest of the signing.

The Portuguese had told the club not to sign Ntcham and claimed he only heard about the transfer when he read about it on Tuesday morning.

Villas-Boas has since been suspended by the club and the new signing could be set to make his debut away at Lens on Wednesday evening.

Local newspaper La Provence reports it will be the 24-year-old or Valentin Rongier who starts in midfield but the situation is not ideal for Ntcham's debut.

His arrival from Celtic has sparked a civil war, something the same newspaper has described as 'Apocalypse OM'.

The sensational development has been given a five page special and made headlines across France.

L'Équipe put Villas-Boas on its front page with 'Run for your life' while Le Phocéen wondered if players would be able to play in such "chaos".

Ntcham's career at OM has not got off to the best of starts after an interview surfaced in which he admitted to being a Paris Saint-Germain fan.

He had said: "I am a supporter of Paris Saint-Germain and I have always been.

"They are a team that I follow regularly, I try to watch all the matches, I support them. When they score, it does something to me."
