Olivier Ntcham set for Celtic return as Marseille ‘eye’ two transfer alternatives

Celtic’s new manager seems certain to have Olivier Ntcham at his disposal, with reports indicating that Marseille are already looking at potential alternatives.

The midfielder moved to the Ligue 1 giants in January, on loan with a £4.5m option to buy in the summer.

However, Ntcham's big move has not worked out as he would have hoped.

Coach Andre Villas-Boas offered his resignation in response to the signing, insisting he had specifically said no to the former France Under-21 international.

The Portuguese was later sacked but things didn't get better for Ntcham, as an old interview surfaced in which he'd admitted to supporting Paris Saint-Germain.

The 25-year-old was hooked at half-time in a shock Coupe de France elimination at the hands of Canet Roussillon and has also been taken off at the break in Ligue 1 games against Lille and Nice.

All of that makes it very unlikely that Marseille will take up their option to buy and it appears they're already looking at alternatives.

Turkish outlet Sporx believes that they're in talks with Benfica over Gedson Fernandes, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

And in France Le10Sport states that Angelo Fulgini of Angers is being considered as a possible replacement.

Eddie Howe is expected to be confirmed as the new Celtic boss and it seems he will have Ntcham at his disposal for pre-season.
