Olivier Ntcham potential transfer fee revealed as Celtic enigma nears Marseille switch

Celtic could net close to £9million for Olivier Ntcham if Marseille opt to sign the midfielder permanently in the summer.

The two clubs are locked in talks over a loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Ntcham has also been linked with Nantes and Newcastle United but is believed to be close to a move to OM.

Both RMC Sport and La Provence report that talks are very advanced and the transfer is expected to go through today.

While the initial deal will be a loan Celtic could be in for a big windfall in the summer.

France Football reports that the option to buy will be worth €10million (£8.8m).

Ntcham joined Celtic from Manchester City for a fee of £4.5m in the summer of 2017.

The Frenchman signed an extension in November of the following year to take his deal up to 2022.

Amortisation means Celtic would record a profit of around £7.7m if they sell him permanently to Marseille in the summer.

The cost of a transfer is broken down over the length of a player's contract, giving Ntcham a value on the books of £0.9m in the final year of his deal.
