Olivier Ntcham leaves Celtic for Marseille with hoops in line for summer fee

Marseille have confirmed the signing of Celtic ’s Olivier Ntcham on a loan deal until the end of the season.

And the Ligue 1 outfit have an option to buy the midfielder in the summer for £4.5million.

Ntcham joined Celtic from Manchester City three-and-a-half years ago for the same price.

The 24-year-old played a bing part in Celtic’s quadruple treble winning run, first under Brendan Rodgers then Neil Lennon.

But he has struggled to hold down a place recently and last played for The Hoops when he came off the bench against Ross County in their Scottish Premiership encounter back on 23 December.

His finest moment in green and white came away to Lazio on the Europa League, netting a last minute winner in the Stadio Olimpico in a famous 2-1 win that sent Celtic through to the knock-out stages in November 2019.

But now it looks like he’s played his last game at Celtic Park, and follows hot on the heels of Jeremie Frimpong, who made a big money move to Bayer Leverkusen last week.
