Olivier Ntcham handed Marseille boost as reason Celtic loanee has struggled revealed

Midfielder Olivier Ntcham's hopes of his Marseille loan move being turned permanent have been boosted after Nasser Larguet praised his attitude.

The Celtic loanee has struggled for game time since his January move, making just two appearances from the subs bench.

But interim boss Larguet insists it's purely down to the performances of Boubacar Kamara and Pape Gueye in the middle of the park.

And he hinted that Ntcham could earn a place in the team soon because of the work he's been putting in on the training pitch.

He told RMC Sport: “Today, he’s suffering a bit because of the good health of Boubacar Kamara and Pape Gueye. But it’s true he’s got as much chance of playing as the others. He’s a real professional. A real boost for the team.

“Every player has a role to play over the coming games. It’s true that Olivier Ntcham is on his way. Honestly, he’s a great guy, works a lot. He’s done a lot of extra training sessions. He came to a few extras because of that period of not playing. He’s a real professional”.

Life for Ntcham in France didn't get off to a good start after Andre Villas-Boas resigned from his job because he disagreed with the signing of the midfielder.

Ncham made his last appearance for Celtic in December, during a 2-0 win for Neil Lennon's side over Ross County at Celtic Park.
