Olivier Ntcham given brutal French media roasting as Celtic loanee slaughtered after Marseille cup shock

Celtic loanee Olivier Ntcham suffered the ultimate humiliation in the French press after Marseille were booted out of the French Cup on Sunday.

The Ligue 1 giants were tossed aside by four-tier side Canet Roussillon as Nasser Larguet's final game as interim coach ended in a stunning 2-1 defeat - and the Celtic man was given the lowest rating possible by the local press.

Ntcham has struggled since joining Marseille after his arrival provoked the exit of Andre Villas-Boas and an old interview surfaced in which he declared his love for arch-rivals Paris Saint-Germain.

He’s struggled to get into the team and was hauled off at half-time in their the recent cup loss.

Match ratings in the press are a big deal in France and they take them seriously, so it says a lot to see the report confirm that Ntcham was awarded a 1/10 rating for that game in local paper La Provence.

You rarely see a 10/10 rating given because it requires a game where everything goes perfectly for the player, so the 1/10 suggests that Ntcham failed to do anything right in that game.

The midfielder needs a fresh start but returning to France has somehow placed him in a worse situation.

He could extend his stay in Marseille as it’s reported that they have the option to make the deal permanent, but that's becoming increasingly unlikely to happen.

The French side have just appointed Jorge Sampaoli and if things don't quickly change, it looks like Ntcham will be returning in a few months.
