Olivier Ntcham ends post Celtic football exile as Rangers connection offers Swansea chance

Released Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham has found a club after penning a deal with Swansea.

The French midfielder was released by mutual consent earlier this summer, having failed to convince Marseille to buy him after a loan spell in France.

Ntcham was linked with AEK Athens but has been unable to come to terms on a contract with the Greek outfit, and was also touted with a move to Legia Warsaw.

However, the 25-year-old is back has been offered a chance by former Rangers director of football and current Swans’ sporting director Mark Allen to revive his career in the Championship with a three-year-deal.

Ntcham worked with Allen at the Manchester City academy and before joining the Parkhead club in the summer of 2017.

An impressive debut campaign led to a £13million bid from Porto, which was turned down by Celtic.

After falling out of favour under Neil Lennon he joined Marseille on loan in January, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

Things turned sour immediately though, with manager Andre Villas-Boas resigning in protest after Ntcham arrived without his approval.

He failed to recapture his form in Ligue 1 and was let go having failed to work his way into Ange Postecoglou's first-team plans in pre-season.
