Olivier Ntcham Celtic release rumour circulates after midfielder's underwhelming Marseille loan

Celtic are rumoured to have released Olivier Ntcham following the midfielder's underwhelming loan spell with Marseille.

The Frenchman joined the Hoops for around £4million in the summer of 2017, and quickly became an important first-team player under Brendan Rodgers.

Ntcham enjoyed several impressive moments during his first two seasons in Glasgow, including scoring in the 2018 Scottish Cup final against Motherwell, as well as the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Rangers in September of that year.

However, it seems as though Ntcham has been keen on leaving Celtic for a while, and he left the Parkhead club at the end of the January transfer window, joining Marseille.

Things didn't exactly go swimmingly for Ntcham back in his homeland as he managed just four appearances for the Ligue 1 giants in the second-half of the campaign and now rumours are circulating on social media suggesting he's now been made a free agent - despite still having one year remaining on his contract at Celtic Park...

We should point out that Celtic are yet to officially confirm any of the rumours, and it would seem rather strange to release a player who could still command a transfer fee this summer, albeit a fraction of the amount it cost to sign him four years ago.

But whatever the truth is, it doesn't look as though Ntcham has much of a future left at Celtic.
