Olivier Ntcham barracked following Celtic departure as Marseille fans unearth love-in with bitter rivals

Olivier Ntcham hasn't ingratiated himself brilliantly with the fanatical support of new club Marseille after it emerged he'd given an interview declaring his passion for bitter rivals Paris St Germain.

The 24-year-old midfielder signed for Andre Villas-Boas ' side on loan until the end of the season on transfer deadline day. The Ligue 1 club have the option of making the deal with Celtic permanent for £4.5m.

Marseille fans made headlines over the weekend when they stormed the club's own Robert Louis-Dreyfus Centre training ground and set fire to sections of it leading to 25 arrests and clashes with police, as well as the postponement of their Ligue 1 game with Rennes.

And their mood has hardly improved after they uncovered an interview from Ntcham when he was at Celtic insisting he would always support PSG.

He said: "I am a supporter of Paris Saint-Germain and I have always been.

"They are a team that I follow regularly, I try to watch all the matches, I support them. When they score, it does something to me."

However, his admiration for PSG has gone down particularly badly at his new club, whose fans have already barracked him on social media after the interview was dug up.

Ntcham could make his Marseille debut on Tuesday night when his side face Lens. And intriguingly, his home debut at the Velodrome could come on Sunday - against PSG.
