Olivier Giroud 'wanted by Juventus' as Rangers linked striker seeks Chelsea exit

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has been linked with Juventus, just days after Rangers manager Steven Gerrard laughed off talk of a bid.

The World Cup winner has been told he must play regularly to make it into the France squad for Euro 2020, so looks set to leave Chelsea next month.

According to Turin-based newspaper La Stampa , Juve are keen to do a deal having sold Mario Mandzukic to Al-Duhail.

The Croat didn't feature at all in coach Maurizio Sarri's plans but he knows Giroud from their time together at Stamford Bridge.

The 33-year-old has been linked with Juve's Serie A rivals Inter, as well as Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and Marseille.

Respected French newspaper L'Équipe also suggested that Rangers were keen but Gerrard played down those links this week.

He said: "We are getting linked with some good players.

"I don’t know anything about it, to be honest.

"If someone knows something about it, give them my number. That’s the first I’ve heard of it.

"He’s a good player, though."
