Olivier Giroud aims dig at Arsenal in behind-the-scenes Chelsea celebration footage

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has risked angering Arsenal fans after appearing to take a dig at his former club in behind-the-scenes footage of their Europa League celebrations.

Giroud scored the opening goal against his former club as the Blues ran out 4-1 winners on a memorable night in Baku to deny the Gunners silverware and a return to Champions League football.

It sparked wild celebrations amongst the Chelsea team, which continued onto their team bus and were captured in an Instagram Live video by midfielder Jorginho.

In the clip, Giroud is seen lifting the impressive trophy aloft and shouting "Thank you Arsenal ", sparking laughs from his team-mates.

Giroud spent the evening being respectful to his former team, opting for a subdued celebration after his opening goal despite being mobbed by team-mates.

He then hailed the Gunners in his post-match interview for giving him the opportunity to play Premier League football and "changing his life" over his six-year stint at the Emirates.

But it appears behind closed doors he was delighted to get one over on his former club, whose fans were angry to see him come back to haunt them.

Giroud told BT Sport after the game: "It was an interesting first half but there were no goals. It was a good final and we have been better, more efficient in the second half.

"I am very proud, this team deserved to win something. It was special for me, I am happy for this club. It's my second trophy in two years.

"These two clubs changed my life, they gave me the opportunity to play in the Premier League. I didn't want to celebrate against Arsenal but I am so proud to win this trophy with Chelsea.

"When you give me the chance to get game time I always try my best. It was our second target to win the Europa League after finishing in the top four so I feel blessed."
