Olivier Giroud looks to have ignited a feud with Kylian Mbappe just days out from Euro 2020.
France are amongst the favourites for this summer's tournament as they aim to replicate their achievement from 2000 by backing up World Cup success with European Championship glory.
Didier Deschamps has a wealth of talent at his disposal and picking an XI is not easy.
Their final warm-up game saw them beat Bulgaria 3-0 on Tuesday night.
Giroud came off the bench to score twice for the world champions, taking his tally to 46 goals for Les Bleus – now just five behind France’s all-time top scorer Thierry Henry.
But in the second-half it looked as if Mbappe was deliberately trying not to find his team-mate.
After the contest Giroud appeared to take a swipe at the PSG star, saying: “Sometimes you make the runs and ball is not arriving. Perhaps we could have found each other better, there it is.”
The Chelsea striker faces fresh competition from Karim Benzema, who has been recalled by Deschamps.
The Real Madrid star was out in the cold for more than five years after becoming embroiled in allegations of blackmail over a ‘sex-tape’ featuring team-mate Mathieu Valbuena.
Many always felt, even in his absence, that Benzema was France's best striker.
Certainly he himself felt so, comparing himself to Giroud by labelling the Chelsea striker a go-kart and himself an F1 car.

Deschamps has had to alter the team's style to accommodate him, with his strengths contrasting to those of Giroud.
As a result the French have not utilised their width as much, perhaps providing a hint as to who will be the main man in attack come their Group F opener against Germany.
That said, Giroud's arrival saw France deliver more crosses into the box and the 34-year-old prospered scoring two headers.
Preparations were somewhat hampered though when Benzema suffered an injury knock, but Deschamps was keen to play it down.
He said: “He took a good hit on the muscle above the knee. He stopped playing because he felt it hardening.
"We have a high level medical staff. It will get better day by day. I have no particular concern, there is nothing dramatic.”
The France coach's toughest challenge over the next month may well be getting his immensely talented group to come together as one.
They are not short of egos and former French international Johan Micoud took aim at Mbappe for his attitude.
He said: “It’s becoming embarrassing. And even when he came off.
“You have just played two warm-up matches, it has gone very well and when he came off the pitch it was as if the team had lost 4-0. His disappointment…at some point it is not all about you.”
France will need to come together if they are to negotiate their Group such is its strength.
The group of death includes the World Champions, the European champions Portugal, Germany and Hungary.
