Olivier Giroud says he is keen to fight for his place in Chelsea's side.
There have been plenty of questions over the French striker's future at Chelsea following the arrival of Timo Werner at Stamford Bridge.
Giroud was recently linked with a move to Inter Milan for a reunion with Antonio Conte, with the former Chelsea boss having previously tried to sign him in January.
Yet Giroud, who battled with Tammy Abraham for a place in Frank Lampard's side last season, has no intention of leaving.
Speaking to the French media whilst on international duty, Giroud argued that things would be different if the Blues had signed a player similar to his quality.
Instead, he wants to fight for his place, arguing that Timo Werner offers different things up front to what he does.
Giroud said: "I still want to fight for my place. I am not naive.
"The club recruited Timo Werner to play, but we don't have the same profile.
"If it had been a striker with the same profile, I would have been more worried."
Giroud currently has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge so has been identified by some clubs as an affordable option this summer.
Conte is known to be a big fan of the 33-year-old former Arsenal star after working with him at Chelsea.
A £10m price tag has been mooted as a potential fee should Inter opt to follow up Conte's interest with an offer for the World Cup winner.
