Olivier Giroud has admitted that he in unsure of his future and is a huge fan of AC Milan.
This is despite the Frenchman's current deal at Chelsea being extended for a further 12 months just a few days ago.
Giroud's deal was due to expire at the end of this month but he revealed the club activated a clause in his contract that would keep him at Stamford Bridge until next summer.
“I want to make it clear that Chelsea reactivated the clause in April and they recently announced it to comply with Premier League rules,” he said when quizzed on what the deal means for his future.
The striker was then asked about Italian side AC Milan, who he has been linked to in recent weeks.
“It's fair to remember that I liked [Milan legends] Marco van Basten and Andriy Shevchenko.
“Milan are a big club and one of the great teams in Europe. But, today, I will not talk about my future at the club because I am focused on the France team and the Euros, which is fast approaching.”
The 34-year-old struggled for minutes under Thomas Tuchel, starting just six times since the German coach replaced Frank Lampard in January.
Giroud was signed by Antonio Conte in January 2018 and has been a solid acquisition for the Blues, scoring 39 times for the club, including crucial goals against Arsenal in the 2019 Europa League final and at Atletico Madrid in the last 16 of this season's Champions League.
The World Cup winner has picked up his fair share of silverware since joining from the Gunners, winning the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup since making the switch from north London.
