Olivier Giroud explains Chelsea goal celebration vs Norwich City after shoving Jorginho

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has explained his celebration after scoring the only goal of the game for the Blues against Norwich City at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard's side were looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat against Sheffield United last time out but the three points will provide a significant boost heading into the final rounds of matches.

Giroud missed a number of opportunities before finding the back of the net and his celebration caught the eye, as he mimed rhyming on a notepad - and explained the reasoning behind the celebration after the match.

"I play Scrabble with N'Golo Kante. I was aiming it at him," he told Sky Sports.

Chelsea needed to wait to get the breakthrough against Norwich, who put up a stern test, and Giroud admitted his side were under pressure.

"We definitely needed to be patient, to play our game and to move the ball quick against a team who play with a deep block. We created a lot of chances but it was important to score before half-time.

"We were very pleased with that. We should have scored more goals, we had a lot of possession, but I think the team was a bit under pressure because we needed that win."
