Olivia Wilde tells of star studded cast of her upcoming film including Shia LaBeouf and Chris Pratt

Olivia Wilde has told how the cast of her new movie is so good it’s “bananas” as A-listers queue up for a role.

Don’t Worry Darling is the actor’s follow-up to her 2019 directorial debut Booksmart.

The 36-year-old has signed up Shia LaBeouf, Little Women Oscar nominee Florence Pugh and Chris Pine.

The Alpha Dog star posted: “This cast is bananas. I’m the happiest director in the world.

“To say that I’m honored/excited/elated/s****ing myself would be a massive understatement.”

Don’t Worry Darling is described as a psychological thriller which is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert, with Pugh as a housewife whose reality begins to crack, revealing a disturbing truth underneath.

Mum-of-two Olivia has regularly spoken about her childhood summers in Ireland and her pride at being an Irish citizen.

This month the House star led a chorus of onscreen doctors in a new Instagram video thanking real medical staff fighting the deadly coronavirus.

She used her little black book of contacts to bring together such names as Patrick Dempsey who played Dr Derek Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy.
