Olivia Jade admits her luxurious kitchen felt like a prison

Olivia Jade discusses plans to redecorate her kitchen in a recent vlog.

Recently, Olivia Jade Giannulli, the daughter of actress Lori Loughlin, gave her followers a virtual tour of her luxurious Los Angeles home in a vlog uploaded to her YouTube channel. During the video, Olivia discussed her plans to spruce up her kitchen decor and inadvertently made a comparison that caught attention.

As Olivia stood in her kitchen, she apologized for the mess behind her and expressed her excitement about adding wallpaper to the space. She exclaimed that the new addition would help the kitchen feel less sterile and, awkwardly enough, 'not like...a prison.' Realizing the irony of her comment, she quickly addressed her viewers, urging them not to make jokes or take offense.

This particular remark is noteworthy because it references the infamous college admissions scandal that rocked the entertainment industry in 2019. Olivia's parents, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Gianulli, were exposed for paying a bribe of $500,000 to secure Olivia and her sister's admission to the University of Southern California as rowing recruits, even though they did not participate in the sport.

The scandal had serious consequences for the family. In 2020, both Loughlin and Gianulli pleaded guilty to charges related to bribery and were handed prison sentences. Lori Loughlin served two months behind bars, while her husband served five. Additionally, they were required to pay a total of $400,000 in fines.

Olivia Jade, who had been active on her YouTube channel since 2014, went radio silent during her parents' court appearances. After the dust settled, she eventually broke her silence on Facebook Watch's 'Red Table Talk' hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith. Olivia admitted feeling ashamed and embarrassed about the scandal and claimed she was not fully aware of the details when she applied to college.

Her comments in the recent vlog and her previous statements highlight the lasting impact the scandal has had on Olivia Jade's life. The comparison to a prison illustrates the emotional toll the experience has taken on her and her family.

It's worth noting that Olivia Jade was not the only high-profile figure caught up in the college admissions scandal. Actress Felicity Huffman, known for her role on 'Desperate Housewives,' also faced legal consequences for her involvement. Huffman ultimately pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. She served 14 days in federal prison.

As Olivia Jade continues to navigate the aftermath of the scandal and rebuild her public image, it remains to be seen how her experiences will shape her future endeavors. For now, her vlogs and social media posts continue to capture the attention and curiosity of many.
