Olivia Attwood returns to Instagram after feeling 'gross' posting amid Ukraine war

Olivia Attwood returned to social media after a two week break recently, with her telling fans that it had "felt gross" to post normal content amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The reality star, 30, regularly posts on Instagram but had been inactive since Russia invaded Ukraine at the end of last month, which has drawn attention all over the world.

The Love Island alum returned to the social media platform this week and opened up about her brief hiatus, stating that it still feels "strange" to post about her life amid the war.

Her last post on her page had been on February 22 - just days before the invasion - with her having not posted anything since until a few days ago, when she returned.

This included sharing a video of herself with her followers on the social media platform, in which she discussed her two week break from it, as reported by the Daily Mail.

She said: "I'm back. I've missed you all so much. I had a little break from the gram. [...] Not [for] any particular reason. I didn't bother doing like a big announcement or anything."

Olivia said that she didn't announced her break because it wasn't planned. She explained to fans: "It kind of happened by accident, with everything going on in the world."

She said that it "just felt gross" to post about shoes that she had bought or to promote TV shows that she was filming. She commented: "It all just felt so insignificant and icky."

The reality star added: "I just didn't know what to post. It felt gross to just post normal stuff." She then reiterated that her absence hadn't been planned, amid filming two new shows.

Olivia said: "I am sick of the sound of my own voice, literally, so I ended up having a few days of the gram and it just rolled and rolled and now it's been like two weeks."

The Olivia Meets Her Match star said that she had received "concerned" messages over her absence from social media recently, but asserted to her fans: "I'm fine. I am fine."

During the video, she suggested that her followers donate to charity over the ongoing conflict in eastern Europe, stating that she and fiancé Bradley Dack, 28, had done so.

She also said: "It does feel a bit strange posting about our lovely lives when the stuff that is going on is going on." Olivia however added that Instagram is "part of [her] job."
