TV presenter Olivia Attwood has revealed a terrifying attempted break-in at her home that was thwarted by private security.

The 34-year-old shared details of the incident on social media, warning the would-be intruders that they had been caught on camera and identified.

Posting against a black background, Attwood credited her security team and the local police for their swift response. She said: “That’s why we pay through the nose for private security.

“On sight in 2 minutes with dog team & the incredible nw police force not far behind.”

She added in the update shared in the early hours of Thursday morning: “We saw your faces, we have your foot prints & finger prints. & sorry what you were looking for isn’t actually kept at the property (sic).”

Attwood, who is currently abroad filming a television project, has not shared further details about the attempted robbery.

The Standard has contacted Olivia Attwood’s rep for comment.

The incident comes as the former Love Island contestant-turned-broadcaster steps into a prominent new role on This Morning as part of ITV’s summer presenting line-up.

Attwood is one of several stars filling in for regular hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard during the show's seasonal schedule.

While some viewers have questioned her appointment due to her reality TV background, Attwood has defended her place on the show, telling critics: “I’ve put the hard work in.”

The Loose Women panellist and documentary frontwoman follows in the footsteps of fellow reality star Rylan Clark, who has become a firm fan favourite on This Morning in recent years.

Despite backlash from a few viewers who claimed they would “definitely stop watching,” Attwood remains confident, positioning herself as ITV’s next broadcasting star.

She previously told The Sun: “Those who know me understand the hard work I've put in to get where I am today.

“I'm forever grateful to Love Island for being the springboard to my career, but I’m excited to show there's so much more to me beyond the villa.”

Adding: “It’s been a lot of hard work, but I’ve always stayed focused on my goals and believed in myself and I’m very thankful for ITV in believing me.”
