Olivia Attwood clears up I'm A Celeb 'covid' rumours and says it's not the reason she left the jungle

Olivia Attwood 's family have given 'clarity' on the real reason the Love Island star was forced to leave the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle after just 24 hours.

Earlier this week, the 31-year-old was the first celebrity to leave the show due to 'medical grounds'. A spokesperson for the show said: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo medical checks. Unfortunately, the medical team has advised that it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation. She has been absolutely brilliant and she'll be very much missed on the show."

Many have been speculating that the star's exit was covid related. However, a statement on Olivia's Instagram claims that this is not the case. On her story, the statement read: "For clarity, Olivia did not leave the jungle due to Covid reasons." No more details have been given but in their initial statement after her shock exit, they said: "To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement, she dreamed of doing I'm A Celeb for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).

"However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has. "You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will back on your screens in the new year."

The statement then signed off with a joke: "Ps who's going to roast Matt Hancock now?" Olivia made history as the first Love Islander to ever enter the jungle. Previously, there was a rule that meant former Islanders couldn't appear in the much-loved survival-based show.

The blonde beauty shot to stardom after appearing on season three of Love Island. She was partnered up with Chris Hughes, 29, but the pair's rollercoaster journey wasn't written in the stars.

Since her appearance in the Majorcan villa, she's also featured on TOWIE and hosted her own documentary titled Getting Filthy Rich, which focused on the sex industry.
