Oliver Skipp reveals feeling in Tottenham squad after Harry Kane’s transfer u-turn

Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp says Harry Kane’s decision to remain with the club will only benefit the team throughout the season.

The England captain had been linked with a move away from Spurs throughout the summer having expressed his desire for a new challenge, Manchester City then emerging as the obvious frontrunners for his services.

However, the decision has since been made for Kane to remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the season, having confirmed that news with a short statement via his official Twitter account.

Since making a dramatic reversal on his bid to leave the club, Kane has since returned to action for the team, making a brief cameo in the 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the striker also got his name back on the scoresheet with a brace in Spurs' UEFA Europa Conference League playoff against Portuguese outfit Pacos de Ferreira, his first goals for the club since the final day of the 2020/21 season.

Skipp, now part of the squad after returning from a loan spell with Norwich City, has been hailing Kane’s decision and is under no illusions how much of a benefit it is set to give Spurs throughout the coming campaign.

Talking to Sky Sports, the midfielder said: "We saw in the 20 minutes at Wolves, he’s a world class player so having him in our team is only going to benefit us.

"You saw the way he was helping is in possession so we’re very happy to see him back on the pitch doing what he does best."

Kane now has three years left on his current contract in north London and is likely to be in contention to face Watford this weekend.
