Oliver Skipp and Son Heung-min suffer injury blows as Daniel Levy handed new role

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Wednesday, September 8.

Skipp injury

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt another injury concern ahead of this weekend's clash against Crystal Palace after Oliver Skipp limped off injured late on in England Under-21's 2-0 win over Kosovo at stadium:mk on Tuesday night.

The tough-tackling midfielder was substituted with just eight minutes to go after sustaining a groin injury following a 50-50 challenge on the right flank, making him a doubt for the trip to Selhurst Park come Saturday lunchtime.

Skipp has played every minute of the Lillywhites' 2021/22 campaign thus far, featuring in the clashes against Manchester City, Wolves and Watford.

Son blow

Son Heung-min was another Spurs star to suffer from an injury problem during the international break after he missed South Korea's World Cup qualifying match against Lebanon on Tuesday after suffering from a calf problem in training.

The 29-year-old reportedly sustained the calf strain on Monday but the Lillywhites are said to be hoping that it is nothing serious.

Son has scored two of Tottenham's three goals this season, netting the winner against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on the opening weekend before repeating the feat against Watford less than a fortnight ago.

The Athletic reported that Levy and Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano were the two leading candidates to replace Woodward on the ECA board before the Spurs' man garnered support from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, leaving Soriano to withdraw his name.
