'Oli you beauty' - How the Chelsea dressing room reacted to Atletico Madrid win

Chelsea took the advantage in their Champions League Round of 16 tie with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.

Thomas Tuchel's men left Bucharest with a win and an away goal thanks to Olivier Giroud's overhead kick, winning 1-0 after dominating a tight contest.

The Blues face a three-week wait to see whether they can progress to the quarter-finals with their home leg at Stamford Bridge not coming until next month, but it's so far so good.

The tie was set up to be an intriguing one with Atletico Madrid top of La Liga and out of form, while Chelsea are in form and fifth in the Premier League.

But it was Chelsea who dominated possession with Atleti failing to register a shot on target all night. Diego Simeone's men did manage to frustrate the Blues, largely keeping them at arm's length, but that moment of magic from Giroud 22 minutes from time proved the difference.

And unsurprisingly, the Blues players were delighted after the game having put in a real shift in Romania to return to Stamford Bridge with a lead and that all-important away goal.

After the game, many of the Chelsea stars took to Twitter to express their delight, including goalscorer and man of the match Giroud, who only came back into the team for this one, replacing Tammy Abraham.

Here's what some of the Chelsea players had to say after the win.

Speaking after the game about his goal, Giroud said: "I love overhead kicks and I was pleased to see the ball hit the back of the net. To be honest, I had no clue about being offside or not.

"Mase (Mount) told me he didn’t touch the ball, so it came from the defender. It’s good for the team, good for me."

Giroud has now scored 11 goals in 22 games for Chelsea across all competitions, starting many of those outings from the bench, only starting seven Premier League games to date this season.
