Oli McBurnie's response to Sheffield United interest and his message to Swansea City fans

Oli McBurnie admits he's flattered by the interest Sheffield United have shown in him this summer, although he remains focused on his football on Swansea City.

McBurnie has been the subject of fiernce interest from Chris Wilder's side having netted 24 times in all competitions under Graham Potter last term.

The Swans turned down a £15m bid from the Blades for the Scotland international ahead of the emphatic at Huish Park on Tuesday night.

And while McBurnie admits he's pleased his efforts are being noticed, the 23-year-old says he will not let his head be turned as a result of the speculation.

"It's out of my hands really, that's the club's decision," said the striker.

"Those two (clubs) will speak about that, it's for people way above my pay grade to talk about, I just get on with the football, it is what it is.

"It's flattering because it means you're doing something right, getting attention from clubs like that.

"But everyone who knows me knows I'll keep my focus on the pitch and my head in the football. I won't let my head turn and I'll get on with things.

"It's not my decision, it's for people way above me to decide. I'll get on with the football, I'm more than happy to do that and let them sort it out between themselves."

McBurnie netted in the 3-2 win over Crawley Town on Saturday although he did not manage to get on the scoresheet against the Glovers in the south of Somerset.

The forward has developed an impressive rapport with the Jack Army since being thrust into the limelight by Potter last season, and fans are understandably worried about the striker's future.

But McBurnie has stressed that on-field matters will be his main priority this summer, adding that he is hugely fond of his relationship with the Swansea faithful.

"Me and the fans have a really good relationship. They've been excellent with me for the few years since I've been in the first team from the Under-23s," he added.

"We have a great relationship, we get on really well and it's understandable that that's their thinking (concern). I'm happy with them and they're happy with me so that's always a good sign.

"It'll go on as long as it goes on. I try to stay out of that sort of stuff, focus on the football and let other people do their jobs and sort that stuff out. I'm keeping my head on the pitch, I don't think my dad would let me focus on that other stuff."

And when asked if he's happy with the Swans, McBurnie responded: "Of course, I'm happy playing with the boys and with the new manager that's come in."
