Oli McBurnie's message exchange with Man Utd-bound Daniel James will leave Swansea City fans feeling emotional

Oli McBurnie has sent his friend Daniel James a "proud" good-luck message ahead of his move to Manchester United.

Swansea City yesterday confirmed that they had agreed terms with the Old Trafford club for the transfer of James, bringing an end to months of speculation over the youngster's future.

James is currently with the international squad as they prepare for their Euro2020 qualifiers with Croatia and Hungary .

His exit will bring to an end a fruitful on-field relationship with team-mate McBurnie, with the pair linking up well over the course of last season.

The two are good friends off the pitch too, and judging by their exchange on Twitter following confirmation of his move north, they will miss each other a great deal.

James responded in kind to his now former team-mate.

McBurnie's sentiments were endorsed by Wayne Routledge

Connor Roberts gave a more tongue-in-cheek response to his United transfer.

James' £15million move to United should be completed after the international period is over.
