Oli McBurnie makes instant impact for Sheffield United as Blades fans rave about £20million man's performance

He wasn't the Scottish record transfer fee holder for long, but Oli McBurnie wasted no time in making a mark at his new club on his debut.

McBurnie came on as a second half substitute as his new side Sheffield United chased an equaliser against Bournemouth.

And while his mishit shot would rather have rippled the back of the net, it in the end helped tee up Billy Sharp to prod home the ball and rescue a point for the Blades on their first English Premier League tie in 12 years.

There were more than few raised eyebrows when Sheffield United shelled out £20million to Swansea City to make McBurnie their new number nine.

But the fans certainly seem to have taken to him despite only coming on with less than 30 minutes to play, and hope there's plenty more to come from the Scotsman.

@RyanMatthews: [Chris] Wilder at it again his three subs changed that game weren’t on for long Mcburnie holding the ball up Freeman showing he should start next game great little passes and Billy Sharp doing what he does best

@MitchHalley: I love it that McBurnie was straight into the fans behind Sharp. Come on

@youknowjim Upset that Maupay scored but McBurnie looked very decent imo so that's alright

@Blades_analytic New signings look great. Robinson very good, McBurnie made a great contribution

Also making his Premier League bow was former Gers and Scotland international John Fleck.

The midfielder played the full ninety minutes for Wilder's side.
