Oli McBurnie goal has got some Spurs and Man United fans talking about Liverpool and VAR

There was late drama in the only Premier League game of the day as Sheffield United scored a late equaliser to rescue a point against Manchester United.

Oli McBurnie scored a 90th minute goal to earn the Blades a point at Bramall Lane, after United had come back from two goals down to lead 3-2 in south Yorkshire.

But there was some controversy around the goal, with the video assistant referee (VAR) checking the goal for a possible handball amid appeals from United defenders that the ball had appeared to strike the Sheffield United striker on the arm.

The goal was awarded following the check, but United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not impressed when he spoke after the game about the late goal.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, he said: "What is the difference between that one and the penalty for Liverpool [against Tottenham] in the Champions League final?"

How VAR will work in the Premier League

And the Manchester United boss was not the only one asking the question, with some Spurs and Manchester United fans also pondering what was different about the incident involving Moussa Sissoko in the Champions League final, when a penalty was awarded to Liverpool.

That was not the only incident that fans were comparing it with though, with the disallowed goal from Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus against Tottenham in the closing stages of the Premier League clash earlier this season.

Here's what some fans have been saying about the different incidents.
