Oli McBurnie gets slap on the wrist as Scotland striker sent warning over Swansea incident

Scotland striker Oli McBurnie has been "reminded of his responsibilities" after pictures appeared to show him making rude gestures to Cardiff City fans.

The 23-year-old briefly became the most expensive Scottish player of all time when he left Swansea City for Sheffield United in the summer in a deal which would be worth up to £20m.

Only a few days later Kieran Tierney 's move to Arsenal beat that record, and just as the left-back is open about his devotion to Celtic it appears McBurnie hasn't forgotten his former club.

The Scotland international was seen supporting Swansea in the away end during their 0-0 draw at Cardiff on Sunday.

Pictures soon emerged of him making rude gestures toward the home fans, with the images going viral on social media.

Today it has been revealed that the FA took a dim view of the incident, giving McBurnie a warning over his conduct.

A statement said: "The FA has reminded Sheffield United's Oli McBurnie of his responsibilities following attendance at the EFL Championship fixture between Cardiff and Swansea yesterday."
