Oleksandr Usyk issues Tyson Fury with final deadline for undisputed fight

Oleksandr Usyk has told Tyson Fury "the clock is ticking" as their undisputed heavyweight title fight is still yet-to-be-announced.

Heavyweight champions Fury and Usyk have been pencilled in to fight on April 29 and despite both parties seemingly agreeing on terms for the bout, an official announcement is yet to be made. Fury recently announced that he is going on a social media blackout to prepare for the contest, but that didn't stop Usyk from issuing a "final deadline" to his British rival on Twitter.

"The points for agreement were sent to Fury’s side. The deadline is set. The clock is ticking. The ball is on Greedybelly’s side now. We did everything in our power to make it happen," Usyk wrote. Fury has insisted that he doesn't need several months of preparation to fight Usyk and will put himself through just six weeks of training for the undisputed title clash.

"I don't need six months or four months, anything like that," Fury said in a video of himself jogging. "I've got six weeks and a week rest, done. Happy days. I'm going to impose my will on this little sneaky b****. Get up lads, cannot wait. Rule Britannia."

Fury and Usyk seemingly agreed to a meeting at Wembley Stadium last week after 'The Gypsy King' insisted on a 70-30 split in his favour with no rematch clause, terms that the Ukrainian agreed to. UFC boss Dana White recently had his say on the undisputed fight not being announced as he told reporters including Mirror Fighting: "That is boxing, that's the way that that sport always seems to play out, the big fights that should happen never happen."

Usyk's promoter, Alex Krassyuk, thinks that Fury didn't expect his client to accept his offer of a 70/30 split, telling talkSPORT: “As soon as Usyk accepts a no-rematch clause, there will still be searching for another thing to find and pull out the fight. I tell you why. He bluffed and Usyk called his bluff. This is 100 per cent.

"He didn’t expect Usyk to accept 70/30. He was not in a training camp and we say the next morning the theatrical performance that he was pretending to jog and fight someone in the ring. As Usyk said, the greedy belly is still hoping to find a way to pull out. We knew before and know it now."
