'Ole's at the wheel!' - Leeds fans mock rivals Manchester United over under-fire Solskjaer

Leeds United supporters on Tuesday night rubbed salt into Manchester United wounds by chanting “Ole’s at the wheel” during their Carabao Cup game at Arsenal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under immense pressure at United following a dismal run of form, culminating in the humbling 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool on Sunday which prompted fierce speculation over the manger's future.

However, Solskjaer on Tuesday took training and is expected to be in the dugout on Saturday when United take on Tottenham Hotspur in north London.

The news that the Norwegian is staying has been met with mocking delight by United’s rivals, as shown by Leeds fans at the Emirates Stadium.

Leeds supporters were heard chanting “Ole’s at the wheel” when facing the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

The phrase was made famous after former United defender Rio Ferdinand called for the board to give Solskjaer the job on a permanent basis following a remarkable Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

"Man United might not thank me, but get the contract out, put it on the table, let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there - given what he's done since he's come in - and let him sign the contract and go," Ferdinand said at the time.

"Ole's at the wheel, man - he's doing his thing. Man United are back!"
