Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been urged to make the 'unpopular' decision and sell Paul Pogba for the good of Manchester United.
The Frenchman appears to be happy again at Old Trafford though there is still danger of those feelings being fleeting.
Pogba made it clear last summer he was ready for a fresh challenge, and with just two years remaining on his contract, United are now approaching a crossroads.
There has been talk of a new deal being tabled for the 27-year-old, but Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher feels Solskjaer should move Pogba on.
"A year ago Paul Pogba agitated for a move," Carragher said in his Telegraph column. "Now he is entering that point in his contract where United must either sell him or give him a lucrative new deal to prevent him leaving for free.
"I suspect they will offer him a contract. If they can get anywhere near what they paid for him, they should be selling.
"Not popular, but the right thing to do given the circumstances and his contribution since he joined."
Pogba's 2019/20 season was hampered by injury but he still managed to rack up 22 appearances in all competitions.
United are arguably still yet to see the best of the midfielder though since his return to the club in a club-record £89million deal now over four years ago.
Real Madrid and Juventus have been consistently linked with a move for Pogba during that time and it is thought he could still depart Old Trafford in the not-too-distant future.
However Solskjaer seemingly has no plans on getting rid of the World Cup winner, and even hinted at a new contract last month.
"What Paul said, was said before. Since coming back from injury has been a delight," the United boss said.

“He has worked really hard, he is happy and he is playing well. We are going to see the best of Paul in the next couple of seasons, I’m sure.
“And I’m looking forward to seeing him grow with this team.
“He will have to be one of the leaders, one of the main figures, because he is just coming to his peak time as a footballer at 27.
“I am really looking forward to working with him.”
