Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told to sign 4 stars in summer - including Philippe Coutinho

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's former Manchester United teammate Phil Neville has given the Norwegian some transfer advice ahead of what is expected to be his first summer in charge of the club.

But it's going to be incredibly tough to follow.

The Norwegian is widely expected to be given a permanent contract at United following the impressive job he's done in a caretaker capacity since replacing Jose Mourinho in December.

And with that will come the responsibility for the summer's transfers, as United seek to add the players who can turn them from top four contenders to Premier League title challengers under their new boss.

And if it was up to England Women's manager Neville - and he presumably had a blank chequebook - then there would be four new signings heading to Old Trafford.

Neville was asked to name his dream United XI for next season on Premier League Today, with seven current first-teamers making it in alongside his four signings.

Naturally he went with David De Gea in goal, and then a back four of Luke Shaw at left-back, Diogo Dalot on the right and Victor Lindelof and Real Madrid's Raphael Varane - the first of his summer arrivals - in the centre.

Neville then went for a midfield of Paul Pogba alongside Tottenham's Eric Dier and Barcelona former Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho.

Then upfront it was Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Real Madrid and Wales star Gareth Bale.
