Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must centre his Manchester United rebuild around Paul Pogba, according to Harry Redknapp.
The midfielder is said to be keen on a move to Real Madrid this summer after United failed to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Real boss Zinedine Zidane talked up the 26-year-old on his return to the Santiago Bernabéu and Pogba said it would be a 'dream' to play under his compatriot during the March international break.
United are reluctant to sell their record signing, and Redknapp says Solskjaer should focus his recruitment on serving Pogba's needs.
"He's a real talent," the former West Ham and Tottenham manager told MEN Sport in his role as ambassador for Bet Victor's #HeyHarry campaign.
"I think the boy's a real good player but he needs the right players with him and he needs to know what his role is in the team.
"If you've got a player with his talent, you have to build the team a little bit around him by making sure you've got the right people around him to get the best out of him."
Pogba's attitude was widely questioned amid United's run of two wins in 12 games at the end of last season.
The dismal spell cost United a top-four position, but Redknapp believes the suggestion that Pogba is a bad influence on the United squad is wide of the mark.
"I don't know him but people tell me he's a good lad," he said.
"I know he comes over being a bit, you know, big-time, but people say he's a good guy. And he certainly is a talent.
"You saw that at Juventus. He played in a World Cup-winning team. I think they've got to get the best out of him.
"It's up to Man United now to bring the right players in to play with him and to make sure he's on board."
