Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told how to create "unstoppable" Man Utd midfield very soon

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have an "unstoppable" midfield at his disposal once Paul Pogba returns from injury, according to Tim Sherwood.

Solskjaer added Bruno Fernandes to the United squad in January when he completed a big money move from Sporting Lisbon, and the Portuguese has scored three goals in his six United appearances thus far.

Pogba has only made seven Premier League appearances for United this season, with the most recent of those coming in a 4-1 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day.

Scott McTominay has also returned from injury in recent weeks, and Sherwood - who won the Premier League as captain of Blackburn Rovers and later managed Tottenham and Aston Villa - thinks that the Pogba-Fernandes-McTominay axis would spell trouble for the rest of the Premier League when it is deployed by Solskjaer.

"I think they would be magnificent together," Sherwood told Premier League Productions .

"When he’s back I believe someone of Paul Pogba’s ilk will come back with a professionalism of playing for the biggest club in the world and want to prove – even if he doesn’t want to be there next year – that he’s a top drawer player.

"He will have been massively encouraged by looking at Bruno Fernandes coming to the club, performing like he has.

"Them two together with McTominay sitting in between them is an unstoppable midfield. One 6 and two 8s, the two 8s are Fernandes and Pogba."

The French World Cup winner is closing in on a return to full training following his ankle injury, but it remains to be seen when he'll make his return to Solskjaer's side.
