Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told he's on 'thin ice' as Manchester United manager

Ray Parlour has spoken about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future as Manchester United manager as speculation continues to surround his position at the club.

MEN Sport understand Solskjaer is still on borrowed time as United manager ahead of this weekend's game with Watford.

United have had a dismal start to the season, compounded by a devastating 5-0 loss to Liverpool, two weeks before Manchester City would comfortably defeat them 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer remains in the role, but pressure continues to build after each game, with United in need of a positive result tomorrow afternoon.

Current Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers continues to be linked with the job, however, he was quick to play down the idea that he'll leave the Foxes yesterday.

And Arsenal legend Parlour has given his take on the situation.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I am sure Manchester United are thinking about pulling the plug on Solskjaer and they're looking at candidates behind the scenes.

"How could you turn down Manchester United? It would be very difficult for anybody to do that.

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour speaking on talkSPORT (talkSPORT)

"Ole could go on a run and turn things around now, but he's on thin ice.

"Unless he's been told that he's fine until the end of the season, but if he hasn't then of course he's on thin ice.

"In recent weeks it has not been good enough - look at all the former players saying that.

"Manchester United have set the bar so high."

United currently sit sixth in the table and will come up against Arsenal and Chelsea in the league after their visit to Watford tomorrow.
