Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make 'desperate' Man Utd transfer promise to Paul Pogba

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to plead with Paul Pogba to stay for another season.

Pogba has made no secret of his desire to quit Old Trafford this summer as he seeks a new challenge away from the club.

Both Real Madrid and Juventus are interested in the World Cup winner but as yet, there have been no official bids made.

The Sun reports Solskjaer is 'desperate' for Pogba and will propose him staying put for another season before letting him depart in a year's time.

It is claimed the situation could be 'win-win' for United and their wantaway midfielder.

Pogba, who is currently away with United's squad in Perth, faces a frustrating summer before the new campaign begins.

While Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is keen, he has spent almost his entire transfer budget already this summer.

Eden Hazard was the big-money arrival from Chelsea and it is unlikely he will also cough up the £120m United want for Pogba.

Juventus are also struggling to find the cash required to land the midfielder and meet his £300,000-a-week wages at United.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has slammed United for their stance and suggested they should let his client depart.

"The player’s done nothing wrong. He’s been respectful and professional in every way. The club knows his feelings for a long time," he said.

“It is a shame others only like to criticise without the right information.

“And I am sorry the club does not take any position against this. Hopefully there will soon be a satisfying solution for all parties.”
