Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tells Manchester United fans what to expect from young players

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Manchester United fans the club's young players will be given plenty of game time next season.

Mason Greenwood, James Garner, Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes have all featured in both of United’s pre-season fixtures so far.

Eighteen-year-old midfielder Garner scored United's second goal in their 2-0 win over Perth Glory last weekend, while 17-year-old forward Greenwood notched the Reds' opener against Leeds United on Wednesday.

Asked whether he has been impressed by the quartet during the tour, Solskjaer told the United app: “They have impressed me before in training over the last six months so that is why they are here.

“It is just a matter of seeing them against good teams with the first-team players. We know they are talented.

“I have no doubt that we will see loads of them his year and in the years to come.”

Solskjaer also praised United's new signings Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, both of whom have looked bright in pre-season.

"It is always daunting, the first couple of weeks with a new team," the Norwegian said. "But then you stamp your authority, show what you are about and I think both of them have done."

United take on Inter Milan in their third of six pre-season fixtures on Saturday afternoon having won their first two against Perth Glory and Inter Milan.

Romelu Lukaku, who is yet to feature on the tour, is the only player expected to be unavailable for United due to injury.
